AMPLIFY vs IGNITE: Choosing Your NAD+ Formula

Same NAD+, one key difference. Here's how to choose between LavION's two NAD+ formulas.

5 min readBy the LavION Wellness team · Medically reviewed by Dr. Keith Johnson, MD

Key takeaways

  • Both formulas contain NAD+ 1,300 mg and GHK-Cu 5 mg per patch.
  • IGNITE adds MOTS-c 5 mg, a mitochondrial peptide studied for metabolism and energy, mostly in animals.
  • MOTS-c is prohibited at all times in tested sport, so AMPLIFY is the NAD+ option for tested athletes.
  • Neither is "stronger." IGNITE has one additional ingredient.
  • All amounts are loaded per patch, not measured delivery.

What they share

NAD+ is a coenzyme every cell uses for energy metabolism and DNA repair, and levels tend to decline with age [2]. Both formulas deliver it the same way. For what's known, and not known, about NAD+ through the skin, read Do NAD+ Patches Work?

GHK-Cu is a copper peptide studied mostly for collagen and skin [3]. It's in every LavION formula.

What MOTS-c adds

MOTS-c is a small peptide encoded in mitochondrial DNA. Researchers are studying it for its role in metabolism and exercise response. Most of that research is in animals and cells, and human evidence is still limited.

MOTS-c isn't an FDA-approved drug, and it's prohibited at all times under section S4.4.1 of the WADA Prohibited List [1].

How to choose

  • Choose AMPLIFY if you want our most direct NAD+ formula, or if you're subject to drug testing in sport.
  • Choose IGNITE if you want NAD+ plus MOTS-c and you're not subject to drug testing.
  • Not sure? Take the Find Your Formula quiz, and talk it through with your provider during your Good Faith Exam.

How you use them

LavION uses the ActivaPatch IontoGo 12.0 iontophoresis device, which applies a low electrical current to help move charged molecules across the skin during a wear period of up to 12 hours. LavION is needle-free and does not use microneedles. Ingredient amounts describe what is loaded into the formula, not measured delivery into the body. Standard LavION use is one patch every 5 days, worn for up to 12 hours. A Good Faith Exam with a licensed provider is required before your first purchase.
